【那覇】国際通り

沖縄初日。夕食後。
宿に戻ってお腹を少し休めてから、運動も兼ねて「国際通り」へ夜のお散歩。

こちら「国際通り」は県庁前交差点から始まる全長約1.6kmの通り。県内で最も賑やかな通りとして知られている那覇最大の繁華街です。若者と観光客で賑わうメインストリートは、沖縄料理やステーキ・鉄板焼きの飲食店のほか、琉球ガラスや地酒の泡盛、ちんすこうやアロハシャツを扱う土産物屋に、おしゃれなアクセサリーショップなど、ズラリとお店が並んでいます。

日本人観光客のみならず、海外からの観光客の多いこと多いこと。通りの中心地のドン・キホーテでは、日本のお菓子や日用品をかご一杯に買い求める外国人で店内はごった返しています。通りでもそこかしこで、大きな声の異国の言葉が。

今回は通りから一つ入ったエリアの「アーケード街」や「牧志第一公設市場」など、どこか懐かしい雰囲気を漂わせるゾーンには、時間的にまわれませんでしたが、次回はぜひとも行きたいところ。
